Help:How to help

From Webcomic Wiki

Jump to: navigation, search

The Webcomic Wiki is an online resource designed to serve as a tool for webcomic masters to aid in the production and promotion of their webcomics. It is a collaborative project with content being submitted and edited by the users themselves. It is hoped that by pooling the knowledge of each of the wiki’s users we can produce a resource that is help to all webcomic masters, from those starting out, to the veteran webcomic masters with several years experience under their belt.

There are two main ways in which you, the user, can help.

[edit] Editing

Anyone can edit the wiki (only a few pages are locked, such as the main page) and very little expertise is needed. If you have a web browser (you must have to be reading this!) and you can read and type, you can edit the wiki. To get you started, why not take a look at our help section. To get started straight away, take a look at Wikipedia's editing cheatsheet

When editing we try to follow a few guidelines to help with consistency in the articles, a more detailed guide can be found here.

[edit] Writing

If you are feeling more ambitious you could try writing for one our stubs. These are pages that are deemed to be important but have yet to have had content written for them. Or, if you have a new topic that you think would make a good addition, why not create a new page. For more information on how to write articles, check the help section.

When writing a new page, please always search to see if a page already exist, and please follow the guidelines for writing new articles.

If you want to help but can’t think of anything to do, why not check the list of empty articles, or browse through the pages at random to see if any changes need to be made.
